Your protectiveness of your team is laudable. Your contempt for your user base is not.

I don't have contempt for the AO3 user base. I don't even know the vast majority of them.

I do think that people who use personal attacks and foul language to find fault, instead of calmly pointing out what they would like to see improved are mean. But I wouldn't say I have contempt for them.
